In short
Order a wedding suit four to six months before the big day. A made-to-measure suit takes approximately 4–6 weeks to make, but cloth selection, multiple fittings, adjustments and groomsmen coordination all need time around that.
Leaving a wedding suit until the last few weeks is the most common mistake we see. The garment itself can be made quickly, but the process around it cannot be rushed without limiting your choices.
A sensible timeline
- Six months before — first appointment: venue, season and dress code discussed; cloth and style chosen.
- Five months before — measurements and posture assessment; groomsmen booked in.
- Four months before — making begins, approximately 4–6 weeks.
- Two to three months before — fitting and adjustments.
- One month before — final collection, leaving time for last-minute changes of mind or size.
If you are short of time
We can often accommodate a faster turnaround, but cloth choice may be limited to stock lengths and there is less margin for error. It is always better to start early and finish relaxed.
