The story
From London’s East End to Savile Row
I began my career in tailoring in 2001, training in London’s East End under the guidance of experienced tailor Terry Reynolds, before going on to further develop my skills and knowledge on Savile Row.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in both Made to Measure and Bespoke tailoring. Working across both disciplines has given me a broad understanding of fit, construction, proportion and the different ways a garment can be created for an individual client.
Today, as founder of Roomten, I work directly with clients to create clothing that is individual, comfortable and designed to be worn.
For me, great tailoring isn’t about following rules. It’s about understanding the person who is going to wear the clothes.
Craft
The Cutter and the Client
My two main areas of expertise are pattern cutting and working directly with clients.
In traditional tailoring, the person responsible for interpreting a client’s measurements and creating or adjusting the pattern is known as the cutter.
But measurements are only part of achieving a great fit. I look at posture, shoulder position, body shape, proportion and the way somebody naturally stands and moves.
Just as importantly, I want to understand the person I’m making the clothes for — their lifestyle, personal style and how they want their clothes to feel.
The aim isn’t to make you look like somebody else.

Experience
Experience Built Over Time
Behind Roomten is a highly experienced team of tailors and craftspeople, many of whom I have worked with for more than 25 years.
That continuity matters. Everyone understands the standards we expect and the way we like our garments to be made.
Throughout my career, I have also had the opportunity to work with Premier League football clubs including Southampton FC and Newcastle United, as well as supplying suits and clothing for major West End theatre productions including Pretty Woman, MJ the Musical and White Christmas.
We have also had the pleasure of dressing well-known clients including Ronnie Wood, Ian Wright, Virgil van Dyjk, Stephen K Amos, Jamie Laing, and Danny Mac, among others.

Our Most Important Clients
While I’m proud of the people and organisations we’ve worked with, the heart of Roomten has always been our private clients.
Some have been coming to us for many years. Others arrive having never experienced Made to Measure tailoring before. Both are equally important.
You don’t need to understand tailoring before coming to see us. That’s our job. We’ll guide you through everything from cloth and style to measurements, fittings and the finished garment.

Approach
A Personal Approach to Tailoring
I don’t believe tailoring should feel intimidating or overly formal. An appointment should be relaxed, enjoyable and informative.
I’ll offer my opinion when I think it will help, but ultimately the clothes have to work for you.
Sometimes that means creating something traditional. Sometimes it’s a contemporary jacket, relaxed trousers, Made to Measure jeans or something completely individual.
The important thing is getting the balance of fit, cloth, proportion and personal style right.
Trends come and go. Well-made clothes that suit the person wearing them don’t.
