In short
Made-to-measure normally needs one fitting after the initial appointment, with a collection to follow. Bespoke involves more fitting stages, because the shape of the garment is developed on you rather than set at the start.
The number of fittings is a consequence of how the garment is made, not a measure of how much care it receives.
Made-to-measure
- Appointment one: cloth, details, measurements and posture.
- Fitting: the finished garment tried on and adjustments marked.
- Collection: corrected, pressed and handed over.
Bespoke
Bespoke adds intermediate stages, so the cut can be assessed and refined while the garment is still open. That is where the extra time and cost go, and why it can solve fit problems that made-to-measure cannot.
When an extra fitting is sensible
- Your weight has changed since the first appointment.
- A wedding or another occasion where you want certainty.
- An unusual cloth or a first commission in a cut new to you.
- Anything that did not feel right at the first fitting.
There is no charge for getting it right
If a garment needs another look, we would far rather see you again than send you away with a suit that almost works.
