02 Aug Gurkha Trousers – Chinos with a difference?
Gurkha Trousers
The word Gurkha derives from the town of Gorkha, a small town in Nepal. This name has since become synonymous with Nepalese soldiers who held a reputation for being fierce warriors that fought off the British East India Company. We think, today, Gurkha style trousers are a great option for a slightly different style with added comfort.
Style
The style is smart casual in appearance and is defined by the one or double pleated front, a slightly wider seat and a higher rise. Plus a unique double belt waistband. Stylish and comfortable.
Fabric
Cotton and stretch cotton with a washed effect (280 – 340 g/m2) from Larusmiani and Brisbane Moss are ideal to create your Gurkha Trousers.
However pure wools and flannels can also be used for a different, look, feel and style.
FIT
Gurkha trousers traditionally have a slightly wider seat and a higher rise. Always with a pleated front (one or two). The fit should be stylish but comfortable, not too fitted.
