The One And Only Danny Mac

Over the past few months, we’ve been working closely with one of our favourite celebrity clients, the one and only Danny Mac. You may recognise Danny from his role as Mark “Dodger” Savage in Hollyoaks or more recently his success on Strictly Come Dancing last year and his tireless work on stage starring in Off The Boat and Sunset Boulevard.

Danny came to us here at Roomten last year to discuss a project that was close to him- his wedding. Using both Danny’s own unique style and our experience in design and tailoring, we were able to create him something one of a kind for his special day.

Danny and his now wife Carley Stenson (known best for her role as Steph Cunningham in Hollyoaks and now starring as Fantine in Les Miserables), carefully selecting the fabrics they wanted to feature on this special suit.

Selected were fabrics from one of the finest British Tweed Mills, Abraham Moon & Sons and a Scottish Mill, Porter & Harding Of Scotland. The look intended for these Groom and Groomsmen suits was a traditional tweed suit with a modern twist to compliment the forest surroundings of the wedding venue.

For the Jacket and Trousers Danny and Carley opted for a blue and gold check tweed, so that both can be worn alone as more of a Smart Casual option for other events. This tweed is made by Abraham Moons & Sons, a British fabric mill that specialises in high quality, durable tweeds. Comprised of 100% Lambswool, this fabric is not only heavy in weight but also highly durable with minimal stretch.

For the Waistcoat, selected was a brown Glen Plaid. This gave a lovely contrast against the blue and gold check tweed however could still be worn with alone or with another suit- giving this entire outfit much versatility. Made from 100% Wool, this was a lighter cloth with a luxurious feel and finish to it, created by Potter & Harding Of Scotland, from their ‘Glorious Twelfth’ bunch.
The shirts featured within the outfits were also made to measure by us here at Roomten, created using 100% cotton in a light blue shade to compliment the other aspects of the suit.

Danny and Carley also opted for bespoke, monogrammed buttons to be used throughout the outfit, to not only mark the occasion but ensure this suit was as unique as possible.

Not one to exclude anybody, Danny also had handmade Bowties made for his younger groomsmen in the lovely blue and gold tweed.

We were lucky enough to snap a few photos of Danny and two of his groomsmen, Jake and Spencer when we met at The City office for a fitting.

A fantastic 3 Piece Suit that is able to be worn all year round, separately or as an entire ensemble.

Thank You to Danny and Carley for choosing Roomten to create them something for their special day.
